Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ – Reference Materials & Analytics (m/f/d) – 80-100%
Description
In this varied role you take on a broad range of tasks in element analytics and in the production of metallic reference materials, and you actively contribute to the training of our apprentices.
Your main responsibilities
- Performing analyses using ICP-OES, ICP-MS, spark OES, AAS and XRF, including various digestion techniques such as microwave pressure digestion
- Titration and UV/VIS spectrometry as well as C/S and O/N/H determination in solid samples
- Sample preparation and machining for wet chemistry
- Development, validation / verification and implementation of new analytical methods
- Performing homogeneity testing on reference materials
- Performing and documenting certification analyses of reference materials in line with current quality guidelines
- Responsibility for instruments and maintenance of the laboratories
- Drafting and maintaining QM documents, e.g. analytical procedures
- Supervising and training apprentices in element analytics as well as acting as an examination expert for the Canton of Schaffhausen
Responsibilities
What you bring
- Completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in an accredited testing laboratory, ideally with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, AAS, XRF and wet chemistry
- Vocational trainer qualification an advantage, or willingness to obtain it
- Familiarity with the working standards ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034 and cGMP
- Independent, careful and customer-oriented way of working
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Very good German and good English language skills
