Goodfellow Group, the advanced materials supplier, has acquired TEA AG, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited independent testing and engineering laboratory based in Wetzikon, Switzerland. The acquisition extends the range of testing and certification services Goodfellow can offer its customers in Europe, North America and Asia, and is the Group’s latest step in building an integrated advanced materials and testing platform. TEA AG and Suisse Technology Partners AG, Goodfellow’s existing Swiss laboratory, will together form one of the broadest independent testing offerings in Switzerland, operating from Wetzikon and Neuhausen am Rheinfall. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1993, TEA AG is known across Switzerland for its “engineers supporting engineers” approach, serving customers in automotive, medical technology, aerospace, defence and industrial electronics. Its services cover environmental testing and simulation, material testing and failure analysis, and custom test system development.
TEA AG joins Suisse Technology Partners AG (Suisse TP), Goodfellow’s analytical services business, which provides surface analysis, mechanical testing, failure analysis and certified reference materials to customers across the Group’s markets. Together the two laboratories give Goodfellow a single testing capability spanning composition, mechanical properties, surface analysis, failure analysis and environmental performance. Swiss customers will see the most immediate change, with a wider range of testing available locally from teams they already know. The combined capability will also be offered to Goodfellow customers across the Group’s other markets, who will be able to commission testing alongside the materials they buy.

For TEA AG’s existing customers, their points of contact and accreditations remain unchanged. Dr Oliver Maus, Managing Director of TEA AG, Cyrill Zahner and Rudolf Hauser remain in place, supported by Christian Graf, Head of the Materials Department at Suisse TP, and Dr Benedikt Moser, Senior Technical Advisor at Suisse TP. TEA AG customers also gain access, through the wider Group, to more than 170,000 advanced and reference materials, including the reference materials used to calibrate spark spectrometers and other analytical instruments.
